In 1992, Andre Agassi won his first Wimbledon Championship, but he had a secret. He hated tennis. I’m still amazed at how a Top 10 player in the world could play at such a high level, yet hate the sport.
A few years later, he would hit rock bottom after dealing with numerous off-court personal problems and nagging injuries.
Then the turnaround of the century in all of sports would begin to unfold. After being ranked 141st in the world in 1997, he was back in the Top 10 a year later. By the end of 1999, he finished the year ranked No. 1 in the world.
Along the comeback trail, Agassi lets on that he began to like tennis in his book Open. And I believe his coaches played a prominant role. First, there was tennis coach Brad Gilbert who got Agassi back into championship form.
Gil Reyes, his strength and conditioning coach, was like a father figure and was always there during his ups and downs (and so was Agassi for Gil and his family).
In his book, Agassi also discusses his relationship with JP the pastor. I found the dialogue between the two a vital part of Agassi’s changing mindset.
The key point? Not one, not two, but three coaches. Agassi says everyone needs a coach. Do you? Below are some of the benefits you’ll experience if you go through the Free Agent CFO™ coaching process.
Weekly Calls With Your Head Coach
Encouragement, Accountability, Transformational
Whether you are a prospect or rookie learning the game or needing a push or a nudge as a veteran, the hallmark of the one-to-one coaching process is the weekly call. We start with where you are and the journey is mapped according to the goals and objectives you set for yourself.
Confidence in Marketing and Selling
Expect The Worst 4-Letter Word to be Slayed–Fear
Let’s be honest. You were not naturally born to be a marketer or sales person. Marketing and selling will never be easy, but it will get easier over time with the tools, templates, frameworks, and all the encouragement you need to gain your first client. Don’t worry, if I can do this, so can you.
Access to On-demand Training
Always be Learning
While the coaching process occurs weekly through GoToMeeting calls, you’ll be provided access to a deep playbook that includes everything imaginable to run a CFO practice. You’ll have access to it for life. The coaching process also includes an online project management tool which includes weekly assignments that your coach can monitor daily.
Working Alone, Never Feeling Alone
Your Coach Will Not Have your Back, But He Will Have Your Arms (to be explained)
In the coaching process your cognitive abilities will be stretched. You will learn about goals and grit in ways you have never uncovered. You will understand what conative instincts are all about. But there is so much more.
You’ll be gaining a friend. You’ll never be alone. Your coach will be just a phone call or email away.
